OUR STORY
3rd Generation Family-Owned Business
Barrett and Crofoot Feedyard was established in 1975 by Ed Barrett and E.C. Crofoot, however both men had been working in the industry long before their partnership placed them together in the Texas panhandle.
E.C. Crofoot was known largely as an experienced cattleman in the Kansas area, where he owned a 15,000 head yard in Strong City, and later owned a second yard in Lubbock, Texas.
Ed Barrett first made a name for himself in the cattle business in Emporia, Kansas; where he helped to build and operate Cattleman's Feedlot. After the livestock industry started to move to the Texas panhandle, Ed moved to Lubbock to begin his work with the Crofoot family.
The pair bought their first feedyard together in Hereford, Texas and soon after, expanded with the purchase of our East Yard location. The partnership remained until 1995, when E.C. decided to retire, leaving the feedyard to the Barrett family entirely.
For over 40 years Barrett and Crofoot Feedyard has been committed to the same values of integrity and excellence that were put into place by Ed and E.C. when they first opened their doors. We strive to provide our customers with a quality feeding service that is unmatched by anyone in our industry.
The feedyard is now run by Ed's three son's, Bob, Rodney, and Brad, as well as his son-in-law Ron, and his grandson James.
